Haslam Lake

Location: This large, long lake can be reached from the town of Powell River which is 142 km. (85 mi.) north of the city of Vancouver. Haslam Lake is in Haslam Lake Provincial Park which is 8 km. (5 mi.) northeast of Powell River on a good road.

Resorts & Campsites: Municipal campsite and boat launching are available at the lake. Full services, facilities and accommodations are available in Powell River.

Fishing Report: Cutthroat are the main attraction and are reported to reach over 2 lbs. in this productive lake. Gammarus shrimp are present and provide a high food source for trout. There are lots of shallow rearing habitat. Electric motors only.

Viewscape: This lake has been dammed which has raised the water level.

Shoreline: Lots of snags along the bottom and shoreline. Sand and rock on the shore.

Nearby Lakes

Inland Lake - Inland Lake is 350 ha. (865 ac.) in size and can be found approximately 12 km. (7.5 mi.) north of the town of Powell River. It supports moderate numbers of Cutthroat and Kokanee to 1+ lbs. with occasional larger fish. There are 2 BCFS campsites located at the lake.

Powell Lake - Powell Lake is a huge reservoir lake, 11,192 ha. (27,656 ac.) in size, located just north of the town of Powell River. It supports a fishery of Cutthroat, Rainbow, Dolly Varden and Kokanee. All services and facilities can be found in the towns of Powell River and Westview.
