Revelstoke - Roger's Pass

Glacier on Roger's Pass

Craigellachie:
At this site on November 7th, 1885, the last spike was driven on the Canadian Pacific Railway which connects east and west and plays a very important part in B.C. and Canada's developing history. The site is located 48 km (30 miles) west of Revelstoke.

Traveling east visitors may stop at Three Valley Gap, the Beardale Castle Miniatureland and the Enchanted Forest.

Revelstoke:
First settled in the 1800's by gold prospectors, the city later grew tremendously with the building of the CPR. Interesting sights include the Revelstoke Railway Museum, whose displays emphasize the steam era and the track's history between the towns of Field and Kamloops. The museum is located at 719 Track Street. Also take time to visit the Revelstoke Dam. The Visitor Centre provides information on the dam itself, the Columbia River System and the Revelstoke Project.

Mount Revelstoke National Park:
Moose Bytes? The park offers an abundant trail system for hikers, cross-country skiers and naturalists alike. Over 64 km (40 miles) of well-maintained trails lead visitors to sights such as 1000 year old cedar and hemlock and abundant bird and wildlife.

Glacier National Park:
Excessive snowfall in this area has created over 400 glaciers within the park's boundaries. The rugged mountains and valleys create a breathtaking opportunity for hikers and nature lovers to explore the natural wonders here.

East is Rogers Pass, Golden, Field and the Alberta Border.
